The Implementation Gap

The technology goes live. We make sure your organisation does too

When AI and automation go live, the system usually works as specified. What is often missing is organisational readiness: a workforce that trusts the system, owns it and can sustain it. Delivery changes how work gets done and how decisions get made, while the people, policy and working environment around it stay where they were.

What sits outside the technology

Technology providers and systems integrators deliver the technology well, and their teams are often strong on training and communications. What sits outside their delivery is the client's own ground:

  • Who is accountable when an automated system acts
  • What it is allowed to do, and when a person steps in
  • Who answers when something goes wrong
  • How people come to trust it and rely on it
  • How all of that holds once the project team has gone

No provider can reasonably own those. That is the Implementation Gap, and closing it is what Rokaboat does.

How the work runs

1. A Diagnostic first

A short, fixed-fee assessment of where the organisation stands on the people, policy and working environment around the system, against forty requirements built up over years of consulting and client-side experience.

The report belongs to the client, whether or not they go on to work with us.

2. Named owners, in control from the first day

Each system, process and policy gets a named owner on the client's side, with the authority to decide what it may do, when a person steps in, and who answers when something goes wrong. We never take control, so the client never depends on us.

3. One senior practitioner, alongside

Each client works with one senior practitioner, typically one or two days a week. They show the owners what good looks like, coach them as they do it, and step back one requirement at a time as each owner can run it alone.

4. An exit planned from the start

The capability is built into existing roles across the organisation, not into a new central team, so it holds once we have gone. The client's own leaders decide when the work is finished, and they keep everything that was built.

Working with technology providers

We don't resell technology, and we don't compete with your delivery. We work alongside it, so what your team teaches and what we build reinforce each other.

There are two ways to work together.

Alongside you. You introduce us, the client engages us directly, and you carry no cost or delivery obligation.

Under your own name. We supply the practitioner and the method, you offer it as your service, and you keep the margin.

Either way, you add no headcount, carry no one between projects, and gain clients who use what you've delivered. That helps earn the reference, the renewal and the next phase.

The method behind it

The work follows the Partner Adoption Model, our method for the organisational adoption of AI and automation. It is built on the Adaptive Performance framework and set out in practitioner playbooks, so every engagement follows the same defined approach. "Partner", because we work as the provider's partner on their client's adoption.

Start with a conversation

If you are a technology provider whose clients struggle to realise the value of what you deliver, or a leader whose automation or AI investment is not delivering what was intended, a short conversation is the place to start. Bring a current project, no names needed, and we can talk through what a Diagnostic would cover.
